Legal Requests Policy

BablyBox, LLC d/b/a BablyBox respects customer privacy while complying with valid legal obligations. This page describes our general approach to requests from law enforcement, governmental entities, litigants, and other third parties seeking customer or user information.

Valid legal process

BablyBox evaluates requests for legal sufficiency and may require appropriate legal process before disclosing information. The type of process required depends on the information requested, applicable law, and circumstances. BablyBox may reject, narrow, or challenge requests that are overbroad, defective, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate.

Requests should be specific

Requests should identify the requesting authority or party, applicable legal authority, the BablyBox account or other identifier sought, the categories of information requested, and the relevant date range. Requests should not seek more information than necessary.

Customer notice

Where legally permitted and appropriate, BablyBox may notify an affected Customer before disclosure. Notice may be delayed or withheld when prohibited by law, court order, or when BablyBox reasonably determines that notice would create an emergency, security, fraud, or other legally recognized risk.

Emergency requests

Emergency disclosure requests involving an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury should clearly describe the emergency, why the requested information is necessary, and why normal legal process cannot be obtained in time. Submission of an emergency request does not guarantee disclosure.

Preservation requests

BablyBox may preserve information in response to a legally valid preservation request for the period required by applicable law. Preservation does not itself authorize disclosure.

CPNI and communications information

Requests involving telecommunications records, CPNI, communications content, or other specially protected information are evaluated under applicable legal standards and BablyBox procedures.
